DAY 1/ Sofia
Arrival at Sofia. The representative of our travel agency will meet you at the airport. Group transfer to the hotel in Sofia. Accommodation. Overnight stay.
DAY 2/ Sofia
Breakfast. 2- hour walking sightseeing tour in the heart of the town: Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Saint Sofia Basilica, the old Parliament Building, the Presidency, Saint George Rotunda, the Roman Remains and the other important historical buildings and sites. Free time. Overnight stay in Sofia.
DAY 3/ Sofia- Boyana Church- Rila Monastery- Sofia
Breakfast. Day trip to two UNESCO world heritage sites. The first stop is the Boyana Church, remarkable with its very well preserved frescoes from the 13th century. After that, a visit to the Rila Monastery- the biggest monastery in Bulgaria. Optional visit of its museum and an authentic monk room. Free time for lunch. Transfer back to the hotel in Sofia. Overnight stay.
DAY 4/ Sofia- Plovdiv
Breakfast. Departure to the town of Plovdiv- the oldest existing settlement in Europe. Hotel accommodation. After that, 2- hour sightseeing tour, including: the Roman forum, the Odeon, the main pedestrian street (the longest in Europe), the Roman Stadium (partially uncovered), the Roman Theater, the old Revival Town, the big early Christian Basilica. Free time. Overnight stay.
DAY 5/ Plovdiv- Kazanlak- Etar- Veliko Tarnovo
Breakfast. Departure to the town of Kazanlak. There you will visit the Thracian Tomb, remarkable with its decorations that illustrate the life of the Thracians. A local rosary will be visited as well. After that, departure to the ethnographic reserve “Etara”. It represents the life of a Balkan village as it was in the end of the 18th and in the beginning of the 19th century. Different crafts from that period are demonstrated on its streets. Free time for lunch. Departure to Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval Bulgarian capital. Hotel accommodation and overnight stay.
DAY 6/ Veliko Tarnovo
Breakfast. Veliko Tarnovo was the capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. It is remarkable for its old- styled houses, many old churches and the hill fortress of Tsarevets. There will be about 2- hour sightseeing tour along the historical sites of the town. After that free time and overnight stay.
DAY 7/ Veliko Tarnovo- Koprivshtitsa- Sofia
Breakfast. Departure to the charming mountain town of Koprivshtita, which is famous for its colorful Revival style buildings. There will be a sightseeing tour in the village that also includes visiting some of the house- museums. Free time for lunch. After that departure to Sofia. Hotel accommodation and overnight stay.
DAY 8/ Sofia
Breakfast. Group transfer to the airport.
